What’s up y’all! My name is Hutton. I like to think of myself as an aspiring outdoorsman.

Growing up in Nebraska with a less-than-outdoorsy pair of parents, my camping and hiking experience leading up to college consisted of Little Tikes tents in the living room and a very vague memory of camping in the backyard with my dad and siblings. When I moved to Tennessee for college though, I fell in love with the outdoors.

I went on several simple, one-night camping trips over my first year; when my friend Chandler mentioned interest in a backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail over the following summer, I was the first (and only) to volunteer. A few short months later, we were taking the first steps of what would be a ten day, 100 mile journey. We were in way over our heads. Now we have a ton of stories–and matching t-shirts–to show for it.

You’ll find those stories here! This blog is a chronicle of our misadventures, ignorant blunders, and a few (usually unintentional) successes. Please learn from our mistakes, and laugh with us laughing at us along the way!
